Global Wanderer is proud to offer beautifully produced, high quality prints for your lasting appreciation. The range of vibrant colours, luminosity and detail shown in these prints far exceeds that shown on most screens. We offer a choice of two high quality print media - Fine Art Ink Prints on Canson® Infinity Platine 100% Fibre Rag Paper or - Metal Prints on ChromaLuxe® Dye Sublimated Aluminium Sheet.
At Global Wanderer, we spare no expense to provide the most captivating viewing experience. The media we have chosen to upon which to produce the images is as important as the images themselves. With this in mind, we have selected high quality sustainable materials which present our photography in all it's depth and detail.
Canson® Platine Fibre Rag is a sustainable, durable, high quality paper made from 100% cotton rag. This paper is created from a waste by-product of cloth making, as well as recycled clothing and other cotton material.
The aluminium panels used in ChromaLuxe® printing are made from 100% recycled aluminium, and are themselves recyclable. The coating that is applied to the substrates contains no lead or other heavy metals or phthalates. This coating is a thin, very durable film which is cured using a low energy, emission free process.
We supply our fine art paper prints on 310gsm weight Canson® Infinity Platine Fibre Rag with a satin surface finish. The archival quality paper and ink set we use display accurate and vibrant colours as well as high contrast showing white whites and very dark blacks. With good care, these prints will last without fading for many decades.
We supply our metal prints on 1.14mm thick High Definition ChromaLuxe® Dye Sublimated Aluminium sheets with a semi-gloss white surface. The combination of the unique archival ChromaLuxe® surface coating and the ink set used provides an image with dynamic colours, high contrast and image depth. These highly durable prints will last without fading for many generations.
Canson® Infinity Platine Fibre Rag is the combination of the premium 100% cotton Platinum paper that Canson® has supplied for many years to the original Platinum and Platine photographic market, with the latest microporous coating, making the traditional darkroom paper now available for your digital printing.
Setting the benchmark for Digital Darkroom papers, Canson® Infinity Platine Fibre Rag provides the aesthetic and feel of the original F-Type Baryta Fibre paper, having a true pure white tone without using optical brighteners that are known to affect the longevity of digitally produced images.
Canson® Infinity Platine Fibre Rag’s extremely high Dmax and exceptional grey tones make it the product of choice for the more discerning black and white as well as colour photographic prints.More about the products, the ICC profiles, the product features and benefits on www.cansoninfinity.com
Images printed on Platine Fibre are printed with a white border for ease of mounting. The width of the border will depend on the aspect ratio of the image and some trimming may be necessary for very tall or wide images.
Each print is inspected to ensure quality and has a signature embossed by hand in the white border at the lower right.
Paper prints are provided unmounted and unframed due to difficulties with shipping glass and the importation of timber products into some countries. Mounted and framed prints can be very heavy, increasing shipping costs substantially.
ChromaLuxe® have perfected their manufacturing process to create the highest quality photographic product available in the market today. Aluminum plates are coated with a very fine multiple layer polymer finish. Photo panels contain a specialized, formulated coating that provides the foundation for a visually stunning and durable image.
The first time people see ChromaLuxe® High-Definition Metal Prints they are blown away by the quality and depth of the image. High-Definition Metal Prints are not only stunning to look at, but the durability of this product is unmatched by competitors.
When it comes to fade resistance, the world’s best known photographers, galleries, and museums trust their work to ChromaLuxe®. ChromaLuxe®’s archival qualities, image brilliance, and durability set it apart from all other photo print mediums.
ChromaLuxe® prints come ready to hang, are light weight, long lasting, durable and easy to clean. Each print provides captivating colour dynamics and image depth, making it an ideal choice for displaying imagery.
Images are printed to the edge with no border, giving the impression that it is floating on the wall. The actual width and height of the metal print will depend on the aspect ratio of images and is shown for each image on its product page.
Each print is inspected to ensure quality. Please note that due to the nature of the manufacturing process of the ChromaLuxe® coating, there can occasionally be small bubbles that appear as small bumps or dips on the surface. We inspect all sheets for these and will position the image on the metal in the best possible place so as to avoid these.
These imperfections are barely noticeable and do not detract from the overall appearance of the image. We do not accept returns due to these minor but normal imperfections.
The photographer’s signature appears in the lower right corner of each image.
Global Wanderer is proud to provide three standard print sizes in both paper and metal prints. These sizes vary slightly, as each image is unique, but we have standardized these sizes as much as possible for the convenience of our customers.
If you have a particular need or a space into which you would like to place an image that requires dimensions that differ from those quoted, please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss an individualized print to satisfy your needs.
Canson® Infinity Platine Fibre Rag fine art paper prints are provided in three sizes, small medium and large. The small and medium sized images are printed on A3 and A2 sheets respectively, each conforming to the ISO 216 standard for paper sizes.
The size of the A3 and A2 sheets are:
A3 - 42cm x 29.7cm / 16.5in x 11.7in
A2 - 59.4cm x 42cm / 23.4in x 16.5in
The images on paper are printed with a border on all sides to allow for mounting and framing and for the photographer’s embossed signature to be placed in the bottom right hand corner of the border. The size of the borders will vary depending on the actual dimensions of each image and as a result of the fixed paper sheet sizes, some trimming may be necessary at the time of framing.
The large size images are printed from a roll of paper 24 inches wide. The smaller dimension of the image is arranged to make the best use of the width of the paper roll, allowing for borders. The length of the paper sheet for each individual image will vary depending on the dimensions of that image.
The dimensions for each image quoted on the Product Page for the small, medium and large paper prints are for the sheet size including the image and its borders. Dimensions have been rounded to the nearest whole number.
ChromaLuxe® High-Definition metal prints are provided in three sizes, small, medium and large. The images on metal are printed without a border and the photographer’s signature appears in the bottom right hand corner of the image.
The dimensions of metal prints are generally based on the longer dimension of the image being set to:
Small - 16 inches/40.6 cm
Medium - 24 inches/61 cm
Large - 32 inches/81.3 cm
This longer dimension may be larger for some panoramas or for narrow vertical images. The shorter dimension for each image will vary depending on the dimension of each individual image and is quoted on the Product Page for that image.
The dimensions quoted on the Product Page have been rounded to the nearest whole number.
Selecting the perfect location for your print, hanging, and on going care are all important parts of owning a piece of high quality art. We have included a guide to placing, hanging and caring for your chosen artwork.
Care should be taken when handling unmounted and unframed paper prints to avoid marking them with fingerprints, contact with moisture and creasing.
Larger prints, which are shipped as a roll, can be very difficult to re-pack in the tube in which they are shipped.
It is recommended that they be taken to your chosen framer before unpacking in order to prevent damage.
There are a number of mounting and framing systems available for paper prints, about which your chosen framer can advise.
So that your print will provide you the maximum level of enjoyment over the long term, please ensure that all materials that contact the print or the atmosphere surrounding it are acid free, will not produce any gas, and are of the highest quality.
Care should be taken when handling and hanging, ensuring that corners do not contact walls or other surfaces directly, as they may damage paint or leave scratches.
Prints are supplied with a hanging system comprising a back mounted frame that is recessed a distance from the edge of the print.
Due to the hanging system provided, when the print is hung, it appears to float clear off the wall.
The lack of a visible frame gives the print a clean modern appearance.
Given the nature of metal printing and cutting, ChromaLuxe® edges and corners can be sharp.
